During my 1L year, in my fist semester, on the day of my Contracts final exam, one of my friends made me cookies and a card since it was my birthday. I moved to DC without any friends, and I was spending my 23rd birthday taking an exam, so that small gesture made my day and let me know I’ve got friends who have my back to help me through law school.

“My silences had not protected me. Your silence will not protect you”
Thank you to all my friends and family who have gotten me to this point. Thank you to my parents for raising me in a way that has prepared me to succeed and persevere through adversity. Thank you to my LRW class for dragging me through 1L year and to all of my law school friends for helping me throughout law school by commiserating and laughing together. I know you all will do great things. Finally, thank you to my friends outside of law school who have heard me complain for countless hours about law school and have always provided a space to not think about law school and realize a fulfilling life-school balance. I promise I’ll make you all proud.
