Rothwell, Figg, Ernst & Manbeck Award
The Rothwell, Figg, Ernst & Manbeck Award is sponsored by the Rothwell Figg law firm to recognize the winning team of the on-campus Rothwell Intellectual Property Moot Court Competition. That team then moves on to represent GW Law in the national Giles Rich competition. Each of the team members receives a monetary award, an engraved plaque, and their names will be permanently recorded on a wall plaque in the law school.
This year, in addition to winning the Rothwell Figg award that would have allowed them to compete, the GW team won the Giles Rich National Competition, and were awarded “Best Brief” for the entire competition. They competed against law schools from across the nation and, in the final round, argued before two federal appeals judges of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
The team members are Alexander Davis and Kayvon Ghayoumi.
Alexander Davis attended The University of Chicago, earning his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
He was also a member of The George Washington University Law Review.
